Rita graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a B.A. in English and a minor in Spanish. After spending 13 years as an educator, she earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University and is now a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Associate, working under the supervision of Kali McDonald, LMFT-S, LPC. Rita supports individuals navigating challenges like anxiety, depression, grief, parenting concerns, PTSD, trauma, relationship issues, infidelity, separation/divorce, Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) survivors, stress management, and ADHD. Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, holistic, and strength-based, believing that individuals are the experts of their own lives and emphasizes the mind-body connection.
Outside of therapy, Rita loves immersing herself in nature, continuing her education, reading, writing poetry (which she often shares at open mics), trying new experiences, and spending time with her two children and her beloved fur baby.
